In the English language the word "pal" means friend. A "pen pal" is a person one comes to know through frequent friendly written correspondence. 

Pen Palestine connects youth from Palestine with children all over the world through the exchange of handwritten letters, photos and drawings. The process is engaging and emotionally impactful. Young people, teachers and school administrators alike experience life-changing moments of real, palpable, human interaction. Changing lives since 2018 when a group of 15 student leaders in Northern California reached out and connected with children in Gaza, Pen Palestine is now open to teachers, youth group leaders, parents and coaches ready to guide children aged 8–18 through the exchange of stories, dreams and ideas.
